To all Club Secretaries,
Re Changes to the criteria for animals to be awarded the German Shepherd Dog Council
of Australia (GSDCA) ‘Z’ stamp.
At the 2010 GSDCA Annual General Meeting held in Perth on the 13th and 14th of February,
after discussion and approval at the 2009 National Breed Commission Meeting, the following
motion was placed on the Agenda by the Broken Hill German Shepherd Dog Club and
subsequently carried:
That as from 1 September 2010 those animals that receive a Grade Two grading through the
GSDCA Elbow Dysplasia Control Scheme will only receive a GSDCA ‘Z’ stamp if the
measurement of arthrosis is less than 3mm.
This motion comes into effect on the 1st September 2010, which means that any animal
assessed with 3mm or more of arthrosis on any elbow will be deemed to have failed the
GSDCA Elbow Dysplasia Control Scheme and therefore will not be able to be presented to the
GSDCA National Breed Survey Scheme.
Both Dr Lavelle and Professor Wyburn have been advised of the above changes.
It would be very much appreciated if you could remind your members of the above changes by
your Club newsletter or via your Club website.
If you have any questions regarding this matter please do not hesitate to contact me on 03
50220393 any evening after 6.00pm.
Yours sincerely,
Joylene M Neddermeyer
